Like the phonetically similar cheese of Dutch origin, the name Gauder is a Burgher family that originally lived in Wellawatte, with a few of those names playing rugby from time to time and now, we have a not so new name of Adam Gauder who has been recalled to the Sri Lanka Rugby XVs squad ahead of the Asia Qualifiers.

Adam Gauder Gets A Call Up, Again!

Before we get to the most fascinating part of the write up, we first need to introduce who Adam Gauder is from the new generation. Firstly, Adam is not a stranger per say to Sri Lanka Rugby as he has already been in the Club circuit for CH & FC back in 2019 and in 2023, he was part of the Sri Lanka 7s team that took part at the Asian Games under the Olympic Flag (as SLR was banned then).
